Haida Gwaii is full of magic and waiting to be discovered on your next adventure! At Field Notes Photography, we've come to appreciate the opportunity to show guests of all backgrounds how beautiful the islands can be and we have created the opportunity to develop personalized tours for those who may just want to explore without the need for photography guidance.
Day Tours
the road less traveled...
Our day trips start after breakfast at 9:00am with a quick trip to the local coffee shop for a java to go and will begin on the north or south end of the island depending on your accommodation. We will be traveling in a 2024 Toyota Tundra and are focused on intimate group sizes of up to 3 persons. If there are more guests who would like to travel in your group, we can look to arrange alternate transportation.
Our day together will include stops at some of our favourite locations on the island (tide dependant) including, Balance Rock, The Haida Heritage Center, Rainbow Bridge, The Golden Spruce Trail, North Beach and one of our favourites, Tow Hill.
Along the way we'll ensure we have time to stop and enjoy lunch at the Haida House in Tlell or the Axe and Anchor Pub in Port Clements finding a bit of down time to chat with the locals and if requested, stopping in at a few of our favourite art shops is always an option too!
While we spend the day together, aside from sharing about life on the island, our local guide will be sure to capture some of the sites to ensure you have a gallery of beautiful images to take home with you to share with friends or to print and hang on your wall. If you'd like to use some of this time to capture some updated photos in different locations, we are happy to arrange this during your adventure.
We will aim to finish the tour and return to your accommodation in the early evening so you still have time to catch the sunset at your favourite beach.

Planning your adventure
Your adventure with Field Notes Photography includes the following ~
- Pick up and drop off from your accommodation, ferry or airport.
- Coffee, Tea, or Water throughout the day.
- Admissions to the Haida Heritage Center
- Lunch at Haida House or Axe and Anchor depending on scheduling (alcohol not included).
- Bug Spray, Sun Block, you know ... the Essentials.
- 15 Edited Images of our day together.
Investment
Your investment into our full day tours are $400 per person and will be confirmed upon payment of your invoice.
Please note due to our vehicle limitations and additional guests, we are unable to accommodate pets however we can make a recommendation of a great kennel on the island that will allow your pet and yourself to make some great memories!
Note - Children accompanying parents must be in the appropriate car seat if required by Canadian law.
