Understanding the process ...
Field Notes is a collection of reflections on noticing, creativity, and the stories we carry.
It is where the work behind the images lives. not only what is created, but why. A place to explore the process, the questions, and the quiet decisions that shape the work over time.
Here, photography expands into writing. Writing into story. And story into imagination.
Some entries follow the unfolding of Cheval Blanc. Others trace the path that led here, the choice to learn something new, to work with different tools, and to trust intuition over certainty.
This is a space to read slowly, and to return to often.
The moment I stopped resisting...
On surrender, creativity, and what returns when we let goLast night, I found myself in that same place but not in the ocean. In creation. I was working with AI, writing prompts, shaping images, watching something unfold that I didn’t expect. Somewhere in the process, I stopped trying to control it. I let go. And that’s when everything changed.
In the studio
Exploring Midjourney
In the studio I'll be exploring MidJourney as a creative practice, not to replace the image, but to expand what is possible. A way of working with imagination, composition, and story in new and unexpected ways.
Writing parable in storytelling
Moving beyond documentation into narrative. Using story and parable to hold meaning, memory, and emotion allowing ideas to be felt, not just explained. I'm both surprised and excited to see creative writing and imagination take hold again in this work.
photography evolves
.Photography remains at the center of my work, but no longer stands alone. It becomes part of a larger language, one that includes writing, imagination, and the quiet unfolding of ideas and adventures over time.
